WELCOME

I am a proud graduate of New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts and Massage Therapy (www.nhita.com), and licensed in Maine and Arizona.  I am nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork (NCBTMB), and attuned to Shamballa Energy.  I hold a degree of Associate in Science, Behavioral Studies from the University of New Hampshire System, and am a Professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and the Society For Oncology Massage. I also hold certificates of completion for specialized training in Caring For Clients With Cancer and Caring For Clients With Cancer Advanced Seminar (www.tracywalton.com).

I have been in private practice at Saco Healing Arts Center since January 2005.     

Therapeutic Massage

Ranging from gentle touch to deep tissue methods, therapeutic massage consists of various massage modalities to help maintain, improve and enhance soft tissue health and integrity.  Therapeutic massage can help reduce stress, pain, headaches and nausea; provide relaxation, improve sleep, enhance the immune system, and help improve circulation and blood pressure.  Injury repair is accomplished through thoughtful and knowledgeable skills involving soft-tissue rehabilitation technique.

I use, exclusively or a combination of, the following massage modalities and techniques:

Massage Therapy for Oncology Support - Cancer Massage

Massage therapy for people living with cancer, or with cancer history, that supports the person through any or all phases of their journey.  The five most commonly reported areas of relief by people who receive this massage are nausea, anxiety, pain, depression and sleep.  Specialized assessment and massage modifications are provided with knowledge and understanding of the effects and side effects of cancer, cancer treatment, and surgery, which helps provide a relaxing, enjoyable massage therapy experience.  When appropriate, professional interaction with other active caregivers helps maximize the comfort, safety, and care that each person receives. 

Massage is encouraged for those family members and friends who are supporting their loved ones through the processes and phases of diagnosis, treatment, surgery and health maintenance.  Consideration is given regarding ability to pay.

Shamballa Energy

Universal Life Force (Reiki/Chi) Energy is the energy that runs through all beings.  Everyone and everything is made up of this energy.  It is Love energy.  Shamballa is an expanded energy vibration of which Usui Reiki is a part.  It is a higher frequency and is channeled more quickly.  It is an intuitive, gentle, balanced energy.  You have various aspects of yourself that, as you experience Shamballa, may come up for you to work through as you choose - such as physical pain, anxiety, fear, or sadness that you may be holding.  Perhaps you are drawn to or stuck in a way of thinking or feeling that hurts you or causes you to feel less than physically well, content, or whole - dis-ease.  As a Shamballa Energy facilitator, I sense imbalances in the energy body and help correct them.  I assist in delivering your energy to your chakra centers, your physical, emotional, and mental areas of blockage or low energy, and channel it where it is needed.  Comfort can manifest in the form of mental clarity, calmness, and spiritual connection.  The result being that your awareness and the health-giving life-force energy in your body becomes fine-tuned and amplified.  This gives you the balance to help heal.

As a Shamballa practitioner, I have received both instruction and attunements to channel, raise and accelerate energy flow.  Shamballa is non-invasive and safe, and can be performed while you are fully dressed and lying, sitting or standing.  It is effectively combined with therapeutic massage and other traditional and alternative therapies.
