"Becoming Authentic to Your True Self" ~ Mindfulness Practice ~ When we can switch over from believing that we are humans beings having spiritual experiences to (truly) spiritual beings having human experiences, we connect to the more real of ourselves. Should we call this "Enlightenment"? Or maybe use the phrase "God/Goddess/All That Is"? I say, "we don't need to" and here's why. Even though sometimes we wish to use some special name, often times these "reserved words" soon wane. This is because we sense others must not feel the same way we do, or more often "I probably don't feel the way "they" must feel. The words have a great ring to them, but I'm not sure I'm ready or somehow it can't be real for me (yet). But the truth of the matter is that we all do have our unique feelings because we are each unique beings! In this very special workshop we will share our inner feelings and ask the deeper questions about spiritual intimacy and our special connection to source. We will use special demonstrations for "inner knowing", feeling, sensing, thinking and intuiting. The wonders in science and nature are discovering and proving "spirituality" everyday. With mindfulness practice, you will experience the present moment as ever expanding and you will learn to incorporate this realization into the all-that-you-do and into the more-that-you-are-becoming. How beautiful is that? Well, come see for yourself! "Meditation for Children" These basic offerings will help teach children about quiet time as a lead-in to (short) meditations. Children will learn that they can be aware of "the self" and that you are really separate from your mind. You will work with your innate ability for imagination and creativity. There will also be nature-based guided meditations. Note: parents are invited to sample these classes with or without their children and there is no additional charge for parents attending when their children are registered. "Orienteering Your Spirit in Nature" Find yourself in nature, literally. This wonder-filled workshop is all about Y.O.U. With mindfulness practice (and as our adult-selves), we learn to come back to who we were on the day that we were born. As we learn new ways to experience "the now", we begin to discover an ever-widening "moment" in space and time. We transcend from a map-tracer to a map-maker. By dissolving the mind-chatter from past memories and projecting less into the future, we settle into the more real: our soul space. With outdoor exercises incorporating the four elements, we connect with nature at the visceral level with all of our senses. Remember to bring your journals, writing tools and blankets. This workshop is usually held over a weekend (Friday evening through Sunday Noon) and is based at a camping area or on several islands along the Maine coastline. "Responding versus Reacting - Journaling the Whispers" In this gathering we will experience a meditation with musical lyrics, journal the metaphors of our experience and then have some wonderful discussions. Bring your journal or even a small notebook to record your thoughts and feelings and newly discovered beliefs and attitudes. Believe me when I say, that which bubbles up in our consciousness is ready to be looked at. This is where true healing begins!
This
offering will introduce you the life-enhancing gifts from the plant kingdom,
revered for centuries for their restorative properties to body, mind, and
spirit. Essential oils are very powerful antioxidants that promote emotional,
physical, and spiritual healing and they also stimulate our immune systems.
Specific case studies will be presented such as muscle spasms, cold sores,
recurrent ear infections and more. "Meditation
101" These
introductory offerings will teach you about silent
meditation. You will learn that you can be quiet with yourself and not be
carried away with the thoughts that arise. You will learn about
"Breath-Work" and several techniques for quieting the chatter of your
mind. You will learn to appreciate that the worries don't go away, but certainly
that the worrier can. You will discover your very own Soul Space and that you
carry it with you everywhere you go. You will start living more in the now and
with much less negativity, much more accepting and even appreciating
all-that-is. "Meditation
201" These follow-up offerings will teach you about guided meditation to help show us the more real parts about ourselves. You will come to discover that you are made up of all your past (and future) experiences. All past and future is simultaneous - right here and right now! This realization is huge! It is exactly why we can retrieve a past event and now respond and react as our adult selves with all our experiences and wisdom. This practice teaches that not only can we "walk the talk", but we can live the life of the who, we were always meant to become (and continue to discover). We share who we are, by how we live every day and how we authentically interact with the world around us living mindfully, awake and at more peace with ourselves. "Implementing
the Four Agreements" Do you find yourself in conflict with some of the
beliefs you grew up with? With this special workshop you will begin the path of
re-discovery: uncovering the cobblestones of your past to find out who you were
meant to become. By discovering your genuine self and not just the
"who" that was expected from your family, society and peers you can
stop walking backwards and turn around and face your future. This class will
help you to awaken the wisdom of your inherent self and recover the awareness of
your birth-right. "Pendulums and Dowsing - Ever Dowsed a Thought?" Have you ever dowsed a belief or
an attitude? Well, every "thing" is energy (I believe, all is
photons). A flower transforms from a seed to a stem and then to a beautiful
blossom allowing for pollination and the manifestation of more seeds. All of our
thoughts and words are energy too. How we "self-talk" speaks volumes
about who we believe we are. This effects our health, wellness and even how we
perceive our reality.
